Manitoba Conservation is asking the public to avoid swimming at Pelican Lake (Pleasant Valley and Ninette) and Killarney Lake Beach until the water is safer.
The public is also asked to avoid swimming in waters with visible algal bloom, and to prevent pets from drinking the water.
A new algal toxin advisory sign was posted at Pleasant Valley. It joins existing algal advisory, but not algal toxin advisories, at Ninette and Killarney Lake Beach.
One case of swimmer's itch was reported this week, at Whytewold Beach on Lake Winnipeg.
