An apartment block had to be evacuated after a fire this morning in the 600 block of Westminster Avenue.

There were no injuries, city police said.

The call came in around 6 a.m., and crews are still on the scene. Westminster remains closed between Furby and Langside streets to traffic and pedestrians.

Residents forced out of their suites are keeping warm in a city transit bus.
