Eight candidates in Charleswood

THERE are now eight candidates vying to succeed the late Bill Clement as councillor for Charleswood-Tuxedo.

Livio Ciaralli, who ran against Clement in 2006 and captured almost 29 per cent of the vote, registered his campaign for city council late Tuesday.

He joins previous registrants Dashi Al-Zargani, Cheryl Conley-Strange, Jarret Hannah, Paula Havixbeck, Wendy Lenton, Timothy Martin and Steve Szego.

Conley-Strange says on her Facebook page she is withdrawing, for personal reasons. But she remained registered as of Wednesday.

Candidates must also submit nomination papers between Sept. 15 and Sept. 21 in order to appear on the ballot on Oct. 27.
