Elphinstone man dies after vehicle rolls over

  • Print

One man is dead following a single-vehicle rollover just after midnight last night.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., Prairie Mountain RCMP responded to a crash on Highway 45, near the western Manitoba town of Russell. Attending officers discovered an eastbound minivan drove off the highway and struck an approach, eventually flipping on its roof.

A 36-year-old man from Elphinstone was extracted from the van and taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name will not be released.

The man was wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol was not a factor.

RCMP also point out this accident was not a result of any flood-related issues in the area.

The investigation continues.
