Explosion, extreme weather affects schools

The gas line explosion south of Winnipeg and Sunday’s ferocious weather are impacting schools.

Red River Valley School Division cancelled classes Monday at Ecole Heritage, I.C.S.P., and Ecole St. Malo due to the explosion.

Brandon School Division will not be operating buses outside the city of Brandon Monday due to road conditions. All schools in the division will be open and buses will run inside the city of Brandon.

Attendance is at parental discretion where travel is required, the Brandon division said in a release. The division asked parents to call their school if their children are not attending.

Classes and buses are cancelled for Prairie Rose School Division on Monday. Staff are expected to go to work when it is safe to do so.
