A firefighter injured in a house fire in Transcona Sunday was cleared hours later to go back on the job, a fire official said.
"It was a minor injury. There’ll be no time lost," the official said.
Earlier in the day, the Winnipeg Fire Department reported the firefighter was injured as part of a crew called to the scene of a two-storey fire in the 400 block of Kildare Avenue west.
The nature of the injury was not disclosed Sunday.
Fire investigators were inside the house until late this morning and they have yet to release a cause for the fire.
The damage was barely visible from the street but details from the scene say the fire started in a second-storey bedroom and extended to the attic. Total damage is estimated at $150,000.
Firefighters battled the blaze all morning; the first crew was called in after 6 a.m.
