A fire at 461 Manitoba Ave. Just before 6 a.m. injured one person and caused $200,000 damage.
Fire and paramedic services officials were not aware of the condition of the injured person.
The two-storey structure near the corner of Manitoba and Powers Street appeared heavily damaged by flames, smoke and water, and windows and doors were smashed out by firefighters battling the blaze.
About half a dozen occupants of the home, wrapped in blankets and some in bare feet, were moved to a city transit bus, but all declined comment this morning.
Firefighters kept the blaze from spreading next door to the Living Word Temple Church.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
