Five charged with drug offences in Thompson

The RCMP were busy busting alleged drug dealers in Thompson this week.

Three separate raids were carried out Thursday, resulting in the arrests of three people.

A traffic stop Wednesday resulted in two Winnipeggers also facing drug- and trafficking-related charges.

Three separate raids were conducted Thursday in the Burntwood, Eastwood and Westwood neighbourhoods of Thompson, resulting in the arrest of three local residents who were charged with possession and trafficking offences.

RCMP seized more than four pounds of marijuana and two ounces of cocaine, and more than $2,000 in cash.

The street value of the seized drugs is estimated at $21,200.

At the traffic stop on Wednesday, RCMP seized 12 ounces of powder cocaine, with an estimated street value of $25,000.
