Fort Whyte candidate facing criminal charges

Darrell Ackman, more commonly known as Mr.JetzTV, will be running for election in Fort Whyte this fall.

Ackman made headlines earlier this month after being arrested for targeting underage girls on Winnipeg streets as Mr.JetzTV, his YouTube name, and allegedly recruiting them for the purposes of prostitution and pornography.

Ackman is currently out on bail and is facing charges relating to child pornography and sexual assault. Despite this, he is able to run as a candidate legally, according to legislation in the Elections Act.

"I can’t talk right now, where I’m at," said Ackman when reached at his home in Tuxedo for comment on Sunday. The phone gave a busy signal before a woman answered and demanded to know who was calling. Ackman picked up the extension and promised to comment on his election plans on Monday.

"Don’t call here... don’t call here ever," a man then shouted, before abruptly hanging up.
