Foul play not suspected in case of body found in car

Winnipeg police say the death of a person whose body was found in a car Monday afternoon in the 100 block of Eagle Drive is not suspicious.

Police cordoned off a section of a parking lot in the industrial area. The black car was sitting between semi trailers and had its windows rolled up.

The owner of B.E.S.T. Storage Trailers, who did not want his name used, said the car had been sitting there since Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

He said nobody noticed the body because the seat was reclined.

"I didn’t pay attention because people park here all the time," he said. "It’s free for all parking."

He said he called 911 after maintenance crews noticed the body inside.
