Four people are in custody after Winnipeg police put an end to their lengthy crime spree over the weekend.

The suspects were involved in an elaborate fraud where approximately 100 pieces of identification were stolen through vehicle and home break-ins over the last few months. The stolen IDs consisted of passports, driver’s licenses, credit cards, debit cards and cheques.

With the stolen pieces of identification, the suspects made several purchases around the city.

Late Sunday afternoon, the suspects were located in a stolen Honda Civic near the 800 block of Ellice Avenue. Police conducted a traffic spot and the suspects were taken into custody. One suspect attempted to flee the scene during the arrest. He was later picked up in the 600 block of Burnell Street.

Robert Sauer, 22, Christina Hudson, 34, Delfin Garcia, 45, and Jamie Neilson, 33, are facing numerous charges, including over 65 counts of property obtained by crime. Police also seized a quantity of methamphetamine during the arrest.
