Four injured in crash on Highway 10 near Brandon

B.C. man taken to hospital in Winnipeg with 'significant injuries'

Four people were injured after two vehicles collided Thursday evening on Highway 10 about 16 kilometres south of Brandon, RCMP said this morning.

A man from B.C. , 27, driving a 2002 GMC Jimmy suffered 'significant injuries'. He has been taken to a Winnipeg hospital.

Two occupants of a Honda van remain in Brandon Hospital with undisclosed injuries. A 42-year-old male passenger was treated and released Thursday night.

The northbound GMC Jimmy driven by the  27-year-old British Columbia man crossed the centre line around 7:10 p.m. and collided with the  southbound van driven by a 76-year-old man from rural southwestern Manitoba,  RCMP Staff Sgt. Mike Zens said.

The southbound van had two passengers, a 42-year-old man and 48-year-old woman, also from rural southwestern Manitoba.

Both vehicles sustained significant damages in the crash.

"Blue Hills area RCMP with the assistance of the Criminal Code Investigative team and a Forensic collision analyst, continue with this investigation. Alcohol may have been a contributing factor in this crash," Zens said.
