Two people are dead following an accident on Highway 6 Friday evening.
The collision occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. RCMP detachments from Stonewall and Lundar, along with emergency services personnel, arrived on scene to find a four-vehicle crash on Highway 6 near Highway 411 in the RM of Woodlands.
A 26-year-old man from The Pas and a 46-year-old man from the RM of Woodlands area died in the collision. Their names will not be released.
According to the initial investigation, the 26-year-old was travelling north when he attempted to pass a semi-trailer. He collided head-on with a truck that was driven by the 46-year-old man.
Two other vehicles, a car and an SUV, collided with the truck following the initial impact. Five people were also injured in the incident, including two young children. All were treated for minor injuries and eventually released.
It’s not known if Friday's wet, snowy weather or alcohol was a factor. RCMP continue to investigate the incident.
