Get ready for stormy weather

Grab a rain coat or umbrella on your way out the door today.

There are thunderstorms in the Environment Canada forecast with a risk of a severe thunderstorm late this afternoon. The forecast high is 28 C.

The wind is going to get up there, too, as the early morning breeze of 20 km/h will increase to 40 km/h and be gusting to 60 km/h.

The thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected to move off early this evening and there will be a low of 16 C.

We can look forward to a hot and sunny day on Saturday with a high of 27 C.

Sunday will be hot with an expected high of 31 C and there's a 30 per cent chance of showers.

Early next week, the heat will continue with highs of 30 C Monday, 26 C on Tuesday and 31 C on Wednesday.
