Girl dies as truck rolls near Glenboro

A 15-year-old Glenboro girl was killed late last night when the pick-up truck she was riding in rolled and ended up in a field, RCMP report.

The girl was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the truck, RCMP said.

The incident happened at about 10 p.m. on Rd 81W, just south of Glenboro.

Police said the rollover was caused when the 16-year-old driver lost control of a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche. The driver and two other passengers were not seriously injured.

Police said a contributing factor appears to be driver inexperience.

The incident remains under investigation.
