Goldeyes unveil festivities for all-star bash

  • Print

A game, a free car cling and a sports card show are just a few of the events that will pack the Goldeyes’ 2014 American Association All-Star Game Festivities this summer.

The club unveiled its full slate of events today, in a release that also announced Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries as the all-star game’s title sponsor. So take a deep breath, that makes it the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries American Association All Star Game.

The centerpiece of the two-day celebration is the game on July 29, which pits the best players from northern American Association teams against the best of the southern half of the league. Players from the indie Can-Am League will also be represented.

Fans at the game will get a free Goldeyes car cling, as well as a commemorative program. There will also be a fireworks show and post-game party where fans can rub shoulders with the players.

But the party really kicks off at 6 p.m. on Monday, with a skills competition and home run derby at Shaw Park. Starting at 3 p.m. that afternoon, there will be a sports card show, an autograph session and live entertainment on the Shaw Park promenade.
