Hairspray kicks off Memorial Park movie series

Beginning tonight, Memorial Park will become a giant outdoor movie theatre every Tuesday in August.

Tonight’s feature is Hairspray, a merry fable of racial integration and high-spirited hoofin’ at a local Baltimore TV show in the 1960s. Pre-movie activities get underway at 7 p.m. with a vintage car show followed by the movie screening before dusk.

The rest of the movies on Memorial lineup sound like a Rainbow Stage playbill with Footloose schedule for Aug. 14, Wizard of Oz on Aug. 21 and Grease on Aug. 28.
