There is little but sun in store for Winnipeg this weekend.
Environment Canada has forecast a high of 28 C today, with a mix of sun and cloud. Even less cloud is expected Saturday, when the high is forecast to be 30 C. No cloud is expected on Sunday, when the high is forecast to be 26 C.
More troubling for the weekend are nuisance-mosquito trap counts. The city-wide average trap count in Winnipeg on Thursday was 60 adult mosquitos.
The city can initiate a nuisance-mosquito fogging program once trap counts exceed an average of 25 for consecutive day -- and one quadrant of the city has a count over 100.
Winnipeg is close to meeting both conditions. On Thursday, southwest Winnipeg had an average trap count of 99.
