Water main break at foot of bridge under control

The leak has been controlled at a huge water main break at the foot of the Arlington Bridge, at the intersection of Logan Avenue, and a cleanup by Public Works will soon commence, a city spokesperson said.

The shutdown affected one commercial customer, but no area homes.

City officials said the leak will be repaired this evening or on Saturday, and the work should not impact traffic at the intersection. (The leak is north of Logan under the Arlington bridge).

Earlier this morning, cars were crawling through six to eight inches of water created by the leak. Steam and exhaust also reduced visibility for morning traffic.
