Hundreds gather to protest U of M policies

More than 500 University of Manitoba union members rallied outside the administration building today to protest president David Barnard's policies.

They accused U of M of widespread contracting out and privatization.

Union leaders said students and staff deal with cutbacks while administrators add to their staffs and pour money into external advertising.

Faculty association president Prof. Sharon Alward warned that more protests will come at university administration events.
