Idonije among those receiving honourary degrees

The University of Manitoba has announced the honourary degree recipients for convocation May 15 and June 3 to 5.

They include Chinese community activist Dr. Joseph Du; Leah Hollins, chair of the board of Canadian Blood Services; philanthropist Marjorie Blankstein; football coach Lorne Davies, executive director of the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award program; artist and residential school survivor Robert Houle; Kleysen Transport president Hubert Kleysen; Manitoba’s only National Football League player, philanthropist Israel Idonije; Justice Rosalie Silberman Abella, the first Jewish woman on the Supreme Court of Canada.
