It's cold and snow has left roads slippery

  • Print

You might want to take extra care this morning. Temperatures are -25C and winds, out of the north at 20 kilometres an hour, make for some bad driving conditions.

Yesterday’s Alberta Clipper is now east of Manitoba but the storm dumped enough snow to make highway driving treacherous and city driving an exercise in skidding through intersections and stalling in snow.

Today’s high is -20C and skies are sunny. And for the first time this week, there are no weather warnings. Tonight  is forecast to be clear with lows of-26C, -34 with the wind chill then warming overnight.

The arctic air mass parked over southern Manitoba all week finally lets up Saturday. Highs -12C but in the wind, it will still feel like -34. Overnight, the low is also -12C. Cloudy Sunday with a high of -4C.
