It's cold, very cold in city today

Wind chill this morning: -45. Enough said, it's cold, very cold.

Although the high for today  is forecast for -23C, the temperature at dawn is -32C, with 16 km/h wind pushing wind chill values down to an extreme level, according to Environment Canada.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low of -26C.

The weekend will be a mixed bag: Cloudy Saturday with light snow beginning in the morning and ending in the evening, with a high of -17C and a wind chill of -28C. Sunday will be sunny, with a high of -20C and a low of -29C.

Monday calls for sunny skies, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of -19C and low of -29C.

Early next week, the cold spell is expected to ease, with a high of -6 on Tuesday followed by highs of minus 11 and minus 10 on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
