Lewandoski vying for Charleswood-Tuxedo seat

  • Print

The assistant to North Kildonan Coun. Jeff Browaty is hoping for an office of his own at city hall.

Luc Lewandoski, Browaty’s executive assistant, has confirmed his intention to run for the soon-to-be-vacant seat of Charleswood-Tuxedo.

Lewandoski is a provincial Progressive Conservative with campaign-organization experience. Charleswood has only elected conservative candidates since the 1980s; the late Bill Clement served from 1983 until his death in 2010 and was succeeded by Paula Havixbeck.

Havixbeck is running for mayor this fall and does not intend to pursue her council seat.

Winnipeg voters go to the polls on Oct. 22. Council candidates may register their campaigns on June 30.
