Living flag honoured on stamp

It’s now a living stamp.

Premier Greg Selinger and federal Minister of State Steven Fletcher unveiled a new Canada Post postage stamp today at the legislative building, a stamp that depicts the living flag created last Canada Day by about 3,000 volunteers recruited by the Downtown BIZ.

What took about a couple of hours to photograph last July 1 took about two seconds to unveil. The permanent domestic-rate stamp is part of the postal service's Canadian Pride series.

Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, said another living flag will be organized for this upcoming Canada Day.
