Manitobans are being encouraged to light a candle Friday at a vigil for Amanda Todd and other victims of bullying.
The vigil will take place Friday at 6 p.m. at the Manitoba Legislative Building, 450 Broadway. Participants are encouraged to wear a pink item, and bring a small candle.
It’s being organized by a group called Global Girl Power, which notes on its website that simultaneous vigils will take place in at least 15 cities in three countries.
Todd, 15, took her own life last week after years of online bullying and blackmail. She related her anguish on the Internet before her death, and her cause has prompted a flood of discussion, memorials and more than 100 Facebook pages dedicated to her memory.
