Main Street fire sends one person to hospital

Smoking in a fifth floor suite caused $200,000 in smoke and water damage to an apartment building at 817 Main St. this afternoon.

One person was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service said.

There was water damage on the fourth and fifth floors, and smoke damage from the fifth to the 11th floor.
