Male on bike sexually assaults woman walking in Steinbach

A male riding a bike reached out and sexually assaulted a woman walking in Steinbach Tuesday night, RCMP report.

The woman was walking alone southbound on the sidewalk on Brandt Street near Echo Fitness when she approached by a teenaged boy riding a mountain bike. As he passed her, the teen reached out and inappropriately touched her upper body and then continued on northbound on Brandt, RCMP said.

Police said the incident was similar to one that occurred March 22 in Steinbach, near the Shoppers Drug Mart.

The boy is described as being about 15 years of age, with short dark hair, a slim build with a narrow face and no facial hair. He was wearing a black jacket.

The mountain bike is described as having straight handle bars.
