Man accused of assaulting women he met at addictions group
A 60-year-old man is in custody after he was accused of preying on two young women he met at an addictions support group.
Winnipeg police said officers investigated complaints from two women, aged 24 and 18, who alleged they were drugged and sexually assaulted by a suspect in separate incidents.
The first attack occurred in July and the most recent in September.
Both women said they had been invited to the man’s residence where they later passed out and then discovered that they had been sexually assaulted.
Police said the women said they had originally met the man while attending support group meetings.
Dwain Nicky Waly, 60, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.
