Man charged after Main Street stabbing
A man is in stable condition after being stabbed on Friday night.
Winnipeg police said today the 46-year-old man was found in the area of the 500 block of Main Street with stab wounds to his lower body at about 11:25 p.m.
Police said the man was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police said the man and a suspect he knew were in a fight before the stabbing.
The suspect was still there when police arrived and was arrested.
Gilbert Eugene Leclaire, 39, of Winnipeg, has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Leclaire was detained in custody.
