Man charged after alleged online chats with teen

  • Print

A 53-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with Internet luring after he allegedly posed as a 13-year-old girl while having sexually-explicit online chats with a 16-year-old Alberta boy.

Members of the Winnipeg police Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested the accused earlier this month at his residence in the Normand Park area of Winnipeg. Computer equipment was also seized by investigators.

The accused’s name has not yet been released by police. He will make his first court appearance later this year and is free on bail.

Police say they also found him in possession of child pornography. That charge involves sexual homemade videos which were sent by the victim, who was living in Alberta.
