Man charged after car crash

  • Print

The police are charging a 47-year-old man with a number of offences, including driving under the influence and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

A car was seen swerving across the centre line of the roadway on McKenzie Street shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to Winnipeg Police Service.

When officers tried to pull the car over, the driver allegedly refused and continued driving until he eventually crashed his car into a snowbank at Richardson Avenue and McCurdy Street.

The man is now in custody. He also faces charges of failure or refusal to provide a breath sample, and flight while pursued by police.
