Man charged after fatal Ochre River stabbing

RCMP have charged a 25-year-old man with second-degree murder following a stabbing in Ochre River.

Dauphin RCMP said a 45-year-old man was stabbed at a residence in Ochre River around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 5. He was transported to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

An autopsy has been scheduled to take place in Winnipeg.

RCMP said the accused and the victim knew one another, and both are residents of Ochre River.

Desi Ronald Nepinak was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Dauphin today.

Police continue to investigate.
