  • Print

A BBQ and cinder block were a bad culinary mix on Saturday night with one man taken to hospital after being struck with a cinder block.

The BBQ for family and friends in the 500 block of Aberdeen Avenue became too hot when the victim reportedly became intoxicated and was acting difficult, according to the police's information.

The host struck the 25-year-old man with a cinder block. The victim fell to the ground and was assaulted some more. Police were called just before 9 p.m.

Police have arrested the 30-year-old BBQ host. He has been charged with assault and possessing a weapon dangerous to the public peace. He was also wanted for several breaches of probation and failure to comply with court conditions.
