A 19-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition with multiple stab wounds and another 19-year-old man was charged with attempted murder after an altercation on Saturday at an Elmwood residence.

Police said the two men had been socializing inside the residence in the first 100 block of Noble Avenue when they began to argue.

The accused left the residence after being told to leave. He was allowed back inside a few minutes later to get his coat and the argument resumed.

The accused then allegedly used a knife to stab the victim several times.

Jordan Thomas Munroe of Winnipeg has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. He has been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
