Man facing 84 charges after armed robbery spree

A 19-year-old Winnipeg man is facing a whopping 84 charges following an armed robbery spree this month.

Police say the crimes began May 2, when a business in the 400 block of St. Anne's Road was robbed at gunpoint. Over the next two weeks, another seven businesses were robbed of cash and cigarettes. Most of the robberies occurred on the south side of town. During one of the crimes, the suspect fired his gun, police said. There were no injuries.

On May 16, the suspect is accused of robbing a business in the 3000 block of Ness Avenue and was arrested later the same day in the area of Alexander Avenue.

Jamie Harper faces 84 counts of robbery and firearm-related charges.

Also charged is a 17-year-old boy. He is facing six counts of robbery with a firearm, wearing a disguise with intent to commit a crime and failure to comply with a sentence.
