  • Print

A man from the R.M. of Portage la Prairie is facing charges after he allegedly fired a gun at a crop duster earlier this week.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, when a crop duster was spraying a field near Fortier, Man. Shots were fired from the ground and the plane was hit, causing damage to the side and the underbelly of the aircraft.

Fortunately, there were no injuries.

Central Plains RCMP were notified and police executed a search warrant at a property in the municipality. A gun and ammunition were eventually found.

Luc Arnal, 51, from the R.M. of Portage, is facing numerous firearm-related charges. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in a Winnipeg court today.

The investigation continues.
