Winnipeg police have put a name to the man found by firefighters in a downtown apartment fire over the weekend.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning, when emergency personnel responded to a fire call in the 100 block of Hargrave Street. Once inside, firefighters extinguished a small fire inside a suite and located a man suffering from upper body injuries.
Arthur Haussermann, 53, of Winnipeg was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
The fire was contained to the victim’s suite. Damage estimates are pegged at $10,000.
