Man with stab wounds, found on ledge, taken to hospital

Winnipeg police are trying to determine what forced a 52-year-old man suffering from stab wounds onto a one-storey ledge of an apartment building in the Lord Selkirk Park neighbourhood.

Police said officers and paramedics spotted the man on the ledge just after 10 p.m. Thursday night, at a building in the 200-block of Charles Street.

Winnipeg Police Service spokesman Const. Jason Michalyshen said the man did not want to tell police what happened to him.

Michalyshen said officers helped the man off the ledge and back into his suite. He was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital, where he is in stable condition.
