Just like the YouTube 2010 sensation Pants on the Ground, police say a local druggie was "lookin’ like a fool with (his) pants on the ground" after a police investigation into allegations of indecent acts at a children’s playground Wednesday evening.
Police say the two men were under the influence of drugs or intoxicants and attempting to conceal their drug use and hide paraphernalia from nearby children as they left the park when one of the male’s pants fell down.
While their actions appeared to be suspicious and possibly indecent in nature to the 36-year-old woman who reported it, that was not the case.
The two suspects arrested Thursday in connection with the incident were later released without charges.
The alleged incident was observed Wednesday about 7:45 p.m. by a woman with three children, aged, five, seven and nine, in a park on the 200 block of Varsity View Drive.
A police news release Thursday stated the two men had been sitting on benches in the park, spoke to the children and then left. As they were walking away, the woman and children noticed one of the men had dropped his pants and exposed himself, and the impression was that the two men began performing indecent acts.
Police noted in a media statement Friday that though the incident resulted in no criminal charges, members of the public who witness suspicious activity are encouraged to contact police as "concerns will be taken seriously and investigated to the fullest extent."
