Winnipeg police have arrested two men who allegedly performed indecent acts Wednesday evening at a children’s playground.

A 36-year-old woman was at the playground around 7:45 p.m Wednesday with three children, aged, 5, 7 and 9, at the 200 block of Varsity View Drive. According to a police release, two men, who had been sitting on benches in the park, spoke to the children and then left. As they were walking away, the woman and children noticed one of the men had dropped his pants and exposed himself, and the two men began performing indecent acts.

Police were contacted and the area was searched, but the suspects were not located at that time.

In a tweet posted later Thursday afternoon, police said both suspects had been arrested and that the investigation is continuing. The tweet said more information would be available on Friday.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the West District Crime Unit at (204) 986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477)
