Missing girl, 12, found

Britney Lamy has been safely located, according to Winnipeg police.

No other information was provided.

The 12-year-old girl had been missing since July 1 when she was last seen during the Canada Day fireworks at The Forks in Winnipeg.

Britney's mother Josephine Choken, family and friends had been searching for the girl daily since Choken reported her missing July 2 after she did not come home the night before.

A large community search had been planned for noon today before news came that she had been found.
