A mother and young son are dead following a two-vehicle crash near Homewood on Friday.
An RCMP investigation found that a Dodge pickup truck pulling a trailer crashed into a southbound 1999 Oldsmobile Alero around 5 p.m.
The driver of the Oldsmobile, a 27-year-old woman from Beausejour, and her seven-year-old son were both pronounced dead at the scene. Their names will not be released.
The driver of the Dodge pickup truck, a 32-year-old man from the RM of Dufferin, and his passenger, a male youth, were transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash took place at an intersection on Road 18 west, just north of Homewood in the RM of Dufferin.
Homewood is just east of Carman along Highway 3, about 80 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg.
Carman RCMP attended to the scene.
An RCMP traffic collision analyst is assisting with the investigation.
