Motorcycle rider dies after crash

A 41-year-old man has died after a collision between his motorcycle and a minivan near Stony Mountain on Sunday.

The minivan was travelling south on Road 10E, near Road 74N in the RM of Rockwood, before it pulled into a driveway to do a U-turn. The motorcycle, which was also travelling south, crashed into the van, a Stonewall RCMP release said.

The motorcyclist’s 43-year-old wife was a passenger on the motorcycle. They were both taken to hospital in Winnipeg. The man was in critical condition, and police were notified Tuesday that he died, the release said.

His wife has been released from hospital.

The 64-year-old male driver of the minivan was not injured.

The RCMP investigation continues.
