NHL cancels December games

The National Hockey League has brought the axe down on another chunk of games, cancelling scheduled contests through Dec. 30.

Included in those cancellations are six Winnipeg Jets games, three of them at MTS Centre:

-Saturday, Dec. 15 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

-Monday, Dec. 17 vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

-Thursday, Dec. 20 @ Boston Bruins

-Friday, Dec. 21 @ Pittsburgh Penguins

-Wednesday, Dec. 26 @ Edmonton Oilers

-Saturday, Dec. 29 vs. Buffalo Sabres

The NHL has now cancelled 526 regular-season games or 42.8 percent of the season.
