Manitoba Grand Chief Derek Nepinak stood in the Circle of Life at Thunderbird House this morning at the funeral for Faron Hall and called for a memorial to be created in his honour.
Nepinak was one of about 100 mourners who attended the two-hour traditional service. Among them were Hall's wife Deborah and a man who'd been with him in foster care as a teenager and hadn't seen him since.
Hall is being interred in Brookside Cemetery near his uncle Wilson Hall, a homeless man who was buried last year in an unmarked grave without his family being told.
