New arrest made in campaign targeting Hells Angels

Police have made their 26th arrest in its Project Flatlined campaign aimed at crippling the local chapter of the Hells Angels and their cohorts in the Redlined gang.

Winnipeg police said today that a man was arrested after an unrelated traffic stop on Friday in the Headingley area.

Police said Jared James Irving, 26, was arrested and taken into custody for an outstanding warrant. He has been charged with participating in or contributing to a criminal organization.

Irving has been detained in custody.

Police are still looking for 27-year-old Jesse Richard Thomas.

Anyone with any information on Thomas is asked to call police.

Starting in March police have arrested several Hells Angels members and associated members under sections of the Criminal Code which state they are likely to commit a criminal offence to benefit a criminal organization.

In order to get out of custody, they have to agree to one year peace-bond terms which state they can’t have any contact with any Hells Angels member or associate in the province, a list which includes more than 50 names.

The conditions also include midnight curfews and order not to have gang clothing or other paraphernalia.

Operation Flatlined is the four major bust the Manitoba chapter of the Hells Angels has been hit with since 2006. Flatlined was used as a reference to the Redlined Support Crew, the Hells Angels’ puppet club set up to fight other criminal networks including the Rock Machine.
