No injuries reported after train derails near Inkster Boulevard

A CP train derailed late Saturday afternoon on Brookside Boulevard off of Inkster Boulevard, with 11 cars falling off the track, an official said.
The derailment happened at about 5:15 p.m. Saturday on an area of the track where the branch line converges with a double main line, said CP spokesman Andy Cummings.
There were no injuries. CP crews arrived on scene soon after the derailment.
One man who asked that his name not be used said he was driving down Inkster Boulevard at around 9 p.m. and saw the train derailed, with "four or five cars piled up, kind of accordioned off the track." He also said there were three or four more cars behind the pile-up that had toppled over completely.
CP's clean up efforts continue today. Their top priority is ensuring the safety of the track, Cummings said.
