VIDEO: Goldeyes anthem idol -- not your usual song and dance

Local singers tried out their pitch Monday afternoon at Canwest Park, in hopes of getting the chance to sing the Canadian and U.S. national anthems at a Winnipeg Goldeyes game this season.

This was the first time the team held the tryouts outdoors, due to the unseasonably warm weather.

Barbershop singer Arnie  Charles uses his charm -- and several members of the Winnipeg Golden Chordsmen -- to influence judge Sarah Kyrylchuk.

Those trying out had to sing Oh Canada and The Star-Spangled Banner acapella. The judges have about 25 spots to fill.
