Overnight parking ban starts Saturday at midnight

Get ready to move your car tomorrow night.
The City of Winnipeg will issue a parking ban on snow routes starting Saturday night at midnight to help plows clear snow from main streets and bus routes. The ban prohibits parking between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m. Any vehicles parked in violation will receive a $100 ticket ($50 if paid early) and may be towed.
The snow-clearing operation will not affect garbage and recycling collection as there is no residential parking ban in effect. The estimated cost of the snow-clearing operation is $2 million. About 300 pieces of heavy equipment will be out on city streets removing snow.
